Publisher's summary

From number one New York Times best-selling author Barbara Taylor Bradford comes a striking, breathtaking audiobook saga featuring the aristocratic Inghams and the Swann family, who has loyally served them for generations.

It's the summer of 1949, and things have run smoothly at Cavendon Hall for years, with very few quarrels, dramas, or upsets between the two families. But since the end of World War II, changes have arrived at Cavendon. A new generation is at the helm and also at the forefront of new scandal and intrigue. With romance, betrayal, heartbreak, and possible murder threatening to tear them apart, the Inghams and Swanns will have to find a way to come together and protect each other in the face of threats they never could have predicted.

Told with Bradford's inimitable deftness of prose and a beloved cast of characters, Secrets of Cavendon is a captivating audiobook that will draw listeners in and grip them until the very last minute.

Disappointed

I’ve loved the three previous books, and I recognize the authors slow entry into the plot. In my opinion, the 8 hours of exposition was about 6 hours too long. Leaving 4 hours of a plot. If you like a plot-driven book, you will be sadly disappointed in THE SECRETS OF CAVENDON, as I was.

Confusing

I had listened to the first three Cavendon Books (in one month, they are that good) and couldn't wait to dive into this one. There was a different reader for this one who has a lovely voice. However, she pronounced names differently, changing the name completely, so that I had no clue who was being talked about. Also, the voices for characters switched between English and American. One character, who is of German descent, sometimes had a German accent and other times had an American one. This was very confusing. I often had to stop and rewind to determine who was talking. If I had not been out of the country I would not have listened to it and gone and bought the book. If this is your first Cavendon book you will be fine, however, if you have listened to the others, read this version.

Great story but wrong narrator

I really enjoyed this book in the Cavendon series, but the person chosen to read it was obviously Australian. I expected a reader providing a upper class English accent to the characters, not the harsh tone of an Australian accent. Most distracting and disappointing.
