Publisher's summary

Dark curls and an unforgettably sweet laugh were all he knew of his sister's rescuer. Later, a second glimpse showed her to be lovely, and he heard her melodious laugh again. Darcy wondered what it would be like to meet this remarkable, and remarkably lovely, young woman. Would the spirit that caused her to go to the aid of a stranger be able to bring some joy to his lonely life? Would they ever meet, or would he always be left wondering?

Little did Fitzwilliam Darcy know that his trip to Hertfordshire to help his friend would bring him face to face with the lovely young woman whose unforgettable laugh had haunted his dreams for the last several years. Would she be anything like the woman he had built up in his dreams? Would he be able to avoid Miss Bingley long enough to discover more about this mysterious young woman?

OK

This is a 3 star book for me because of the story line and the characters that just weren't well developed. I kept waiting for more, but was disappointed. This is the first book that I've listened to by Linda Thompson and I will give another book by her a try. Nancy Peterson did a really good job with the narration.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review

A wonderful clean read

I review only those books that deserve it. this deserves it. Though I was disappointed in the fact it is only part one, I am waiting expectantly for the next credit so that I can purchase the next one.

Very good Pride and Prejudice variation

I enjoyed this version, particularly because Darcy and Elizabeth were not antagonistic toward one another from the very beginning. In fact, they both were very attracted to each other and were sweet. Caroline Bingley was horrible. Wickham was downright evil. Georgianna played a big part and she is a sweet heart. Mr. Bennett takes more responsibility for raising his unruly youngest daughters. Mrs. Bennett is her usual silly, ridiculous useless self. All of those things make this book quite enjoyable. I am now going on to the next book in the series in which Darcy and Elizabeth go to London for their courtship. Good stuff!!! The narrator is absolutely wonderful. No one else could have done better.

Great Story and Narration

I didn't start out liking this story. It was a bit slow and I didn't connect with the characters. As I continued listening I began to enjoy it, The conclusion was excellent for a series. It was a good variation. I have Book 2 on my wish list.

Her Unforgettable Laugh

“This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.”

"Her Unforgettable Laugh: A Pride and Prejudice Variation: Her Unforgettable Laugh Series, Book 1" by Linda Thompson is a lovely, well written piece. I love revisiting

characters and places from a slightly different angle. We have our antagonists Mr. Wickham and Miss Bingley, who are overtly scheming for their own purposes. Our

protagonists Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth Bennett have to avoid the machinations of the antagonists, while they try to get to know each other.

As this ends in a cliffhanger I will seek out the next novel in the series.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Nancy Peterson gives a believable performance, that takes you back to days long gone. Her voice and

dialect are quite pleasing.

A Different Take on Pride and Prejudice..

Any additional comments?

This is an alternate take of the Famous Couple from Pride and Prejudice.

I don't want to list any spoilers.

Overall, an entertaining read that I enjoyed and I am interested in the rest of the series.

Nancy Peterson did really well with the narration.

Fun and enjoyable variation

This is a variation of Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice. There was little to no character introductions, and not a whole lot of character building, I felt that the author assumed the reader already knew the characters and the basic story. As I've read Pride and Prejudice, I had no problems keeping up with the story or figuring out what was going on. I feel someone just jumping in might get bogged down figuring everything out. I quite enjoyed revisiting the world of Pride and Prejudice. I especially liked how much more interesting Darcy's character was, because let's face it, Jane Austen's male characters tended to be dry and rather boring. I was pleasantly surprised to discover this is the first in a series. I look forward to reading the other books. Nancy Peterson's narration as usual is excellent, and was spot on for this.

Good one

This was a good one in Pride and Predjudice. It is long, very emotion grabbing, nice dialogue, very era appropriate.
Then again all these are the faults as well. This was so long that it was at times repetitive, forgot it earlier plot (Collins suddenly just dissappeared despite his plans), it grabbed my emotions so much that I grew frustrated at times, the narrator while very good at presenting different characters sometime confused them. It was not fun listening to Lizzy speak and sound like Caroline. Lastly it was at times hard to swallow how ineffective Darcy was just because keeping up reputations. Wickham was laughably easy to get one over him time and time and time x7 again.
