Publisher's summary

One popular type of yoga today is Korean Yoga. Yoga is a several-thousand-year-old tradition that has pervaded multiple countries and cultures, evolving and branching into numerous subgroups and styles. Although the roots of the practice are in South Asia, mainly inside of India, there are major schools of yoga across the globe. One very divergent method of practicing yoga is the Korean technique. Avoiding most of the traditional poses inherent in Indian Hatha yoga, Korean yoga more closely resembles Zumba and Tai-Chi in certain aspects. Great book for selecting a type of yoga

Would you consider the audio edition of Yoga Journal for Beginners to be better than the print version?

I think they are on a pretty even level. The audiobook is a great compliment to the print material.

What did you like best about this story?

I really enjoyed learning about all the different types of yoga and the benefits of each.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it was a quick and interesting listen.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed the narration by Caroline Miller. She took this generally dry material and made it very engaging. Her pace was perfect for the material. I don't listen to a lot of non-fiction but what I have heard narrated by her as been a pleasure.

She always has a fabulous read. I love the relaxing quality to her voice. It is smooth and keeps the read dynamic from beginning to end.

Yoga Is A Practical Approach To Exercise

Yoga does have misconceptions however it is the way to go when you need to upwind or unwind. This is for beginners and as it says you must discuss any and all activity with your doctor beforehand. With that being said there is some great information in this quick introduction. Yoga is the harmonizing and balancing of the body and mind. True yoga is about being awake and being mindful. It is a process that releases blocked tensions. Yoga IS a science. It explains what yoga means, the essence of yoga, the many health benefits that yoga can provide and the 6 major types of yoga. Hatha yoga being the most popular and probably the best for beginners. If you decide that yoga is something you would want or if you already do yoga, this guide will give some great web links and great advice. Consistancy and regularity are keys to being successful.
Caroline Miller did a wonderful job explaining this. She spoke clearly and was very easy to follow and understand.
I received the audiobook free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review.
