For each pose, this book contains information on how to perform it (of course), but also its health benefits, contraindications and possible variations. This is great for if you want to focus on a specific part of your body or health. I especially liked the chapter on meditation, it really helped me to kickstart my meditation practice. I’m only doing like 5 minutes per day, but I’m getting the hang of it.
This book does a good job at explaining what to do on the yoga mat, and how to do it. Charice Kiernan points out the many benefits, but quickly moves on the poses, which are really the meat and potatoes of this book. I think that if you are new to yoga this is a good place to start at.
