Publisher's summary

The author of the internationally bestselling Eat Right 4 Your Type again breaks new ground with the first diet plan based on your unique genetic code.

With Eat Right 4 Your Type and additional books in the Blood Type Diet series, Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo pioneered a new, revolutionary approach to dieting: one linked to a person's blood type. In The GenoType Diet, he takes his groundbreaking research to the next level by identifying six unique genetic types. Whether you are a Hunter, Gatherer, Teacher, Explorer, Warrior, or Nomad, Dr. D'Adamo offers a customized program that compliments your genetic makeup to maximize health and weight loss, as well as to prevent or even reverse disease.

In simple, concise prose, Dr. D'Adamo explains how a host of environmental factors, including diet and lifestyle, dictate how and when your genes express themselves. He goes on to demonstrate precisely how, with the right tools, you can alter your genetic destiny by turning on the good genes and shutting down the bad ones. Your health risks, weight, and life span can all be improved by following the GenoType diet that's right for you.

Using family history and blood type, as well as simple diagnostic tools like fingerprint analysis, leg length measurements, and dental characteristics, Dr. D'Adamo shows you how to map out your genetic identity and discover which of the six GenoType plans you should follow. Without expensive tests or a visit to the doctor, The GenoType Diet reveals previously hidden genetic strengths and weaknesses and provides a precise diet and lifestyle plan for every individual. Based on the latest and most cutting-edge genetic research, this is a 21st-century plan for wellness and weight loss from a renowned healthcare pioneer.

It just isn't true, and makes a poor Audiobook.

Its one of those books that is accidentally almost right for a few people, who then extol the virtues of the book to anyone who listens. Even despite the book not being accurate, it didn't translate well to audio, as you are forced to wade through what every 'genotype' should eat, regardless of your own results. If you are curious buy it second hand, if you have actual health issues look for Gary Taubes etc.

Effective

I highly recommend this book. In my 20s it was the Blood Type Diet that was the only thing that got rid of my acne. Life is difficult if you complicate it yourself. Ignore the naysayers and read on. You have nothing to lose.

Interesting concept

I have spent half my adult life looking into food for healing. While it seems obvious that a person’s genetic make up influences that person’s ability to recover or heal from disease but the idea that a genotype is highly correlated to this or that type of meat or fruit or vegetable on the face of it appears highly suspect. Food in general is highly correlated to healing so if this book gets folks healthy that’s great.

Disappointed

What disappointed you about The GenoType Diet?

I thought that since methylation was discussed, MTHFR and other methylation snps would be mentioned. The fact that shortly after talking about the importance of methylation, he suggests every genotype should be taking B12 and folic acid.....that was the moment that I knew this dude was full of it. Not all people with methylation snps can take folic acid or certain forms of B12, this includes me.

scam?!?!?!?!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

if you want to lose wieght this certainly doesnt seem to be the way. The author advises you t0o take a test. I bought the test. It was very extensive test with more tan 12 sections. Which felt good but i wasnt sure whether i had performed the test correctly so i sent my data and test results to de cusotmer care department to maqke sure i performed all the tests correctly. they told they only wanted to know 3 data to determine my type, which oall didnt require to buy the extensive test that I did. and the resukt was a completely different type. When I asked how this test result related to the one I npguht they didnt want to answer my questions. Don't waste your money on this! I did it for you!

Would you ever listen to anything by Peter J. D'Adamo and Catherine Whitney again?
