A family member was put on the Atkins diet by a doctor for health reasons (not weight loss) and this is an excellent, simple explanation of how to apply the principles of the diet.
Included is a basic shopping list for the first week & a week's list of specific meals. Most of the meals are simple preparation, not recipes, but some easy recipes are included as well.
No exotic ingredients & things that can easily be purchased as organic, which we prefer. Useful book!
