Practicalractical Christianity

for the Christian believer really speaks to how Spirit power or the power of the Holy Spirit can be used to overcome temptation and build self-discipline. Well written and I'm surprised it isn't the author that did the narration it really sounds like a personal story in her own words.

Sweet Grace Restored My Hope

I love this book & I am grateful that I "stumbled" upon it. So many things that were said really resonated with me to the point that I now have more hope than I've ever had for my healthy lifestyle/weight loss journey. If you're truly sick & tired of being sick & tired like I was, then this is the book to read. It's thought provoking message is the catapult we all need to put faith into action in order to see our hopes & dreams come to pass.

This book was a good listen.

I did struggle to finish at times. The author made it seem that all she had to do was pray for her food addiction to be gone and God gave her the power to resist. if it was that easy for her- great! it has not been that easy for the majority of us.

Inspirational

I really enjoyed this book. It helped me to learn alot about myself. I think this book is geared towards people who are extremely overweight like Teresa used to be. Well I am not. I am 5'4" 26 yrs old and weigh just under 150 pounds. I am about 20 pounds heavier now than I was before I had my son. This book helped me to realize that I do have an addiction to sugar and that I can overcome it. Even though I am not in a life threatening situation right now, I know I can get into that situation pretty easily by continuing down this path. I learned that leaning on God is going to be the only way that I can do this. There is just so much I learned from this book. What I want people to know is that you can read this book no matter how much you weigh and you will learn about God's love and Grace and how to overcome an addiction to sugar.

Heavily Religious

Would you try another book from Teresa Shields Parker and/or Deanna Arnold?

Although it was sincere and I could relate to many of her struggles, I was very put off by the constant references to Christianity. It's not that I was totally surprised at references to God as it's in the title, but rather that I felt bombarded and it became distracting. I wish I had known the heavy religious emphasis as I would not have purchased the book. If you are comfortable with a very faith based book then you will likely find it a more comfortable experience.

What about Deanna Arnold’s performance did you like?

It did sound like the author was telling her story although it was through another person/narrator.

Was Sweet Grace worth the listening time?

Somewhat. But not really a new message.
