Great book for improving your health!

What made the experience of listening to Sirt Food: The Secret Behind Diet, Healthy Weight Loss, Disease Prevention & Longevity the most enjoyable?

The narrator by far! I don't usually look that deeply into the science of the things we call foods but I'm grateful that R.Paul Matty was the one doing the speaking.


Who was your favorite character and why?

Well, this wasn't a story where the food was talking, so I'm not so sure this is a fair question. Think I will drink more green tea though.


What does R. Paul Matty bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

If R.Paul Matty would not have been narrating this book I would not have gotten past the first chapter. This is honestly not the type of thing I would pick up and read all the way through. Listening to it though, wasn't like hearing a bunch of scientific terms and numbers. It was easy to picture the foods that are better for you and why, and also those that are not. It did not sound like I was being preached to, rather simply talking about the foods and what is actually in them and the importance of living a more active life... and why.


Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I'm glad I listened to this audiobook.


Any additional comments?

I will probably go back to this book on occasion for reference.

Probably a good book but I'll never know

I love the sirt food diet plan and this is probably a good book on the subject (the only one Audible has as well) but I just can't force myself to endure the narrator's bizzare manner of speech for more than a few minutes at a time. He speaks with odd peaks and valleys, unnatural annunciation and a very non linear, non conversational flow. I'm usually pretty accepting of narrators, and the maybe it's just me, but I just couldn't listen to this guy regardless of my interest in the subject matter.
