Publisher's summary

End the yo-yo dieting cycle...forever. Welcome to the Food Freedom plan.

Millions of people have successfully completed the groundbreaking Whole30 program and radically transformed their energy, sleep, cravings, waistlines, and health. Now, Food Freedom Forever offers real solutions for anyone stuck in the exhausting cycle of yo-yo dieting and the resulting stress, weight gain, uncontrollable cravings, and health complaints.

In her newest book, best-selling author Melissa Hartwig defines true "food freedom" as being in control of the food you eat instead of food controlling you. Resets like the Whole30 can jump-start the process, but as anyone who has dieted knows, holding on to that freedom and creating healthy habits that last is the hard part. In her detailed three-part plan, Melissa will help you discover food freedom no matter how out of control you feel, walk a self-directed path that keeps you in control for months on end, gracefully recover when you slip back into old habits, and create the kind of food freedom that stays with you for the rest of your life.

Food Freedom Forever shows you how to design your reset, making your short-term protocol maximally effective. You'll learn how to spot your specific triggers before they're pulled and strategies for dealing with temptation, strengthening your new healthy habits, and boosting your willpower. Melissa also shares advice for retaining your food freedom during holidays, vacations, periods of life stress, social pressure, and criticism from friends and family. By the end of this audiobook, you'll have a detailed plan for creating the perfect diet for you, finding your own healthy balance, and maintaining the kind of control that brings you real food freedom every day.

Life Changing

I've tried every diet...and I mean literally every diet and her style, thoughts, and tips are changing my life. I love her non judgmental approach that recognizes that we will slip up and then gives concrete advice as to how to get back on track. The "is this worth it" approach has really impacted my eating habits. It's not about beating myself up after a choice, it's about learning from it and build my skills to navigate a food world. Thank you, Melissa.

Major Repetative

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. There is no PDF to reference. I truly cannot remember reading anything useful in the earlier chapters. But I can tell you that in the last few chapters the same ideas are repeated ad nauseum. This should have been titled "100 different ways to tell people why you are no longer eating crap". I was ready to throw my Kindle against the wall.

What do you think your next listen will be?

One of the many books I have on my Kindle.

What does Melissa Hartwig bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

If I had read the book I would have skipped past a lot of stuff and could have gone back to anything valuable. I think this book would be better in physical form. As for Hartwig's reading, I wasn't sure if I would like it at first, but I did end up liking it just fine.

Did Food Freedom Forever inspire you to do anything?

It confirmed what I have read elsewhere, that eating whole foods and eliminating junk food is good for you.

repetitive

Book repeats a lot of stuff over and over. I think I had all the info after the first couple of chapters.

Very worth it!

I went back and forth on getting this title as I have already done a whole 30 and have that book, so I wasn't sure this was needed. I'm so glad I decided to check it out. I seriously feel like this book was written for me! It really approaches, and tackles all the things that happen and will happen when and after your whole 30. I'm into my second go around and I feel this book really helped me to feel more confident, and have a better view than my attempts at all or nothing. Well done!

A well rounded plan

The thing I really appreciate about Whole30 is that it not only addresses our nutritional needs but it also addresses our relationship with food.

Long winded

There is good information in this book but there is so much fluff. I think about 4 hours would have been enough to get the information across.

Loved hearing the emotion of the journey

I already own the hard copy of this book and wanted to give the audio version a try. I am so glad that I did. I got more out of the audio version than I ever expected and now can't wait to reread the hardback.

Worth it!

I read mixed reviews on this book and I have previously completed the whole thirty with success. That was years ago and I feel that if I would have had access to this book sooner I may have been able to keep my results more long term. I am excited to re enter this way of life with a new attitude and tools for success.
