Great information

A lot of great information regarding fats however lost interest with the total program due to all the supplementation that is used. Seems that if you need that much supplementation you should adjust your food intake to account for most of it. Even the author states that food shouldnt be thought of as an ingredient but more as instructions that your body uses. Supplementation separates those into ingredients.

WHO KNEW?!

Really good information from Dr. Hyman, as usual.
I've gone from 212-190 lbs. in about 6 months, it's a slow process but it's what my body wants to do. I'm going on the right direction.
I've cut out sugary carbs, no more doughnuts or cookies!
I have eggs instead of oatmeal for breakfast, I eat real butter instead of margarine, my drinks of choice are
water or coffee, no more sweet tea. ☺
I feel like my body is thanking me, I was in arthritic pain 24/7,
my body could no longer carry my weight. I thought I was doing the right things but I was slowing gaining instead of losing and I didn't know what to do about it.
slowly but surely I'm going on the right direction without thinking much about it. simple changes that I'll continue the rest of my life.

Way too many studies

Would you listen to Eat Fat, Get Thin again? Why?

This book could be way shorter. 2/3 of the book is a compilation of studies backing up the author's point. I get it, you need to make sure the reader knows its not bull poopy, however its too much! Skip the first 9 chapters if you want to get to the point. Also, he is super repetitive. However, overall the book is very informative and helpful.

Great content - NOT user friendly in the audio

What did you love best about Eat Fat, Get Thin?

The content is excellent and science based - I loved it.

However, i purchased this book as an audio book and am not able to download the PDF's that are continually referred to in the book. I contacted them for help using the contact us link on the website and they have been absolutely no help at all.

Here is their reply: "when you bought the book from audible, the PDF downloads to a different part of your computer than the audio. I think it sits in the “downloads" folder on a mac or "my documents" on a pc. Please look.

NOTE THAT I PURCHASED THIS BOOK USING MY PHONE SO THERE IS NO "DIFFERENT PART"

Bottom line, I recommend the book, but not the audio version, it's frustrating.

What other book might you compare Eat Fat, Get Thin to and why?

It starts with Food - essentially all whole food eating and eliminating sugars.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no - the science content becomes dizzying.

Agree...to a point

I eat this way and have definitely had success, however, I think this author doesn't go as far as he needs to with this. He stops short, telling people if they can tolerate them it is okay to use some healthy grains(there is no such thing) and to eat a high starch vegetable everyday...I disagree with both for myself...both would mean failure to me. Granted, he does say if you can tolerate them but I happen to believe both are bad...especially grains, they are highly inflammatory and inflammation is the root of disease. I like and truly believe his recurring statement about the best doctor in the house being you...we are individuals and need to learn how to listen to our own bodies.

Eye-opening!

STORY (health/nutrition) - This book is a treasure trove of information, and I will listen to it again so that I can fully absorb all the information. You will be surprised when you learn how much fat you should have in your diet, but Dr. Hyman presents a convincing argument and tells you how much and what kind you should eat. Not only will you get more healthy but, according to him, you will lose weight. The information for the most part is delivered simply and understandable for the normal layperson, but there were times when I got frustrated with listening to test results and quotes and was yelling at my phone, "Just F---ing tell me what I'm supposed to eat!"

PERFORMANCE - Dr. Hyman reads his own work and does a good job, but I was very distracted in the beginning as he apparently was trying to hold back burps multiple times throughout the performance. I hate to be critical of his brilliant work, but I actually got to where I was listening to see if he would burp again...

OVERALL - Highly recommended for everyone, even if you don't want to lose weight. You, yes you, should include more healthy fats in your diet.

I love this book. Where are the attached PDFs?

I enjoyed listening every morning as I got ready for work. There is so much valuable information that I purchased the hard copy.

Its pretty much keto, but with a few more carbs...

Hard to listen to with all the studies he rambles off. Maybe the physical book would be better.

Another great book from Dr. Human.

Great advice. I have been eating this way even before reading the book and feel so much better. Never hangry when eating good carbs (veg) and high fat. Hopefully the message will reach the masses with this book. Love when the author reads the audiobook. Thank you Dr. Hyman

50 pounds gone and still dropping

I love this book, Dr. Hyman, and the eating plan. I have been a yo-yo dieter my whole life. I've been super successful and then gone right back to where I started numerous times. Now, I am a rehabilitated sugar addict.

It was so hard to trust, initially, that I could eat as Dr. Hyman prescribed and actually lose weight but, week after week, that is exactly what has happened. I don't crave anything and I feel healthier on this plan than I ever have. I am deeply grateful and heartily recommend this book and this way of life.
