The Great Cholesterol Myth reveals the real culprits of heart disease.

The diet can help with weight loss, heart health, and diabetes prevention. It's more than a diet, it's a lifestyle. The Mediterranean approach to food is a way of eating that includes balanced, whole foods and is a way of planning meals and snacks that take into account seasonal products.

We are in the midst of a global mental health crisis, and mental illnesses are on the rise. But what causes mental illness? And why are mental health problems so hard to treat? Drawing on decades of research, Harvard psychiatrist Dr. Chris Palmer outlines a revolutionary new understanding that for the first time unites our existing knowledge about mental illness within a single framework: mental disorders are metabolic disorders of the brain. Brain Energy will transform the field of mental health, and the lives of countless people around the world.

Over 90 percent of the population suffers from inflammation or an autoimmune disorder. Until now, conventional medicine has said there is no cure. We all know the dangers of sugar and salt: but the danger attributed to the second white crystal has more to do with getting too little of it, not too much. Too little salt can shift the body into semi-starvation mode, causing insulin resistance, and may even cause twice as much fat to be absorbed for every gram that's consumed. Too little salt in certain populations can also actually increase blood pressure as well as resting heart rate.

Lowering Cholesterol
I was hoping to get any new information from this book. I have high cholesterol levels and like to balance it in a natural way, meaning food, supplements and exercise.
For 7 years now I am vegetarian, and eating very clean and healthy, so most of what he speak about is known to me, yet my cholesterol increases.
I could not find anything that can help me in this book! It most likely be of great benefit to those who do not eat clean, or never try anything to lower their cholesterol.

Concise and to the point
I like that author was not long-winded. The book was concise and to the point. Very handy lists of foods not eat, foods to eat in moderation, top foods for lowering cholesterol, good supplements, and helpful herbs. And adding walking to the end of book was a very nice reminder of the importance of walking. Highly recommend if anyone is looking for helpful information on lowering their cholesterol.
