Sequel to Redemption by Fire

Lee Staunton and Dirk Krause have been seeing each other for a couple of months when they get the bad news: The firehouse they work at will be closed unless they can come up with the money to complete some maintenance and repairs.

The union wants to stand and fight. There's just one problem: The only suggestion for how to raise the money is Lee's. And Dirk hates it.

Unfortunately, everyone else thinks Lee's "Chicken and Beefcake" dinner - which they'll attend in just their hats, boots, and fire pants - is a great idea, and Lee goes ahead with the organizing. But interference from the borough council and low ticket sales threaten to rain on Lee's parade.

If Dirk can't put aside his pride and stubborn nature for one night, it could cost both him and Lee their jobs - never mind their relationship.

The series continues - great narration

Dirk and Lee are now an out couple at work and though awkward, they are definitely getting more comfortable in that area. This book is more about saving the firehouse than anything else. The biggest personal issue is handling their first major disagreement.
Dirk is against Lee’s idea and the two sort-of have a face-off about it.
They still have lots of lovely physical enjoyment and it is interesting to see them work through their first “couples” fight. It was also really nice to see the boys in the firehouse rally together and show support for both Lee and the team. When Dirk does finally see the light, he ends up helping Lee and being super sweet about it.
Dirk is still battling with his father but we can start to see there might be light at the end of the tunnel for the their relationship.
I really liked this book (and the series) and I give it 4 stars.

Audio book:
Nothing more to say here – Peter did another great job, I even liked his female characters.

I really liked it and give it 4 stars.

Overall both audio and book: 4 stars

All is not well

This book is told mostly through Lee's point of view, unlike the first book which was told through Dirk's. Dirk and Lee are growing together and apart, as they figure out how to work around their differences. By far the best book in the series when it comes to character development. Side note: I love their firehouse family they are hilarious, and encouraging.

Great follow up

FiveStars

I absolutely loved this addition to the story. We got to see more growth from Dirk as he learns to support and be there for Lee. Lee shows that he's strong willed and not willing to let Dirk steam roll him.

The way all the men pull together to try to save their station was awesome. It was really special to watch it all come together while seeing out men grow stronger and learn more about each other as they did so.

The narrator did a fabulous job with the story and made it entertaining to listen to.

I can't wait for the next part of the story!

I received a free copy of this book to read for Inked Rainbow Reads in exchange for an honest review.

Strengthened by Fire

Second installment of the “By Fire” series. This is not really a standalone and the first book should be read before this one to get the full picture of what is going on leading up to this book. This is another short and quick book by Andrew Grey covering more of the firefighters Dirk and Lee’s story.

Dirk and Lee have been dating a while now, but their fire station is in jeopardy of closing down. The firefighters need to find a solution to keeping it open and their jobs safe. While Dirk and Lee simultaneously work on keeping their relationship together.

I freaking love the idea that Lee had, it is brilliant and I was not surprised at all that Dirk kind of hated it. Dirk still has his moments of being a completely closed minded idiot. And they are both still dealing with Dirks dad randomly showing up and causing problems. I thought this book was fun a fun part of their story though. It also really shows what all the firefighters were willing to do and how they all come together as brothers working together in order to keep their station and jobs going. It was nice seeing Dirk finally getting his head out of his butt once again and realizing that Lee is the perfect guy for him.

Audio – I really liked this narration by Peter a lot more than the first book. I think that he really found his stride in the character voicing in this book and appreciate the effort he put into making all the characters really come to life and make their personalities really shine through. Good Job..

Great continuation

I really enjoyed this continuation of their story. The development of their relationship was done well and well I'm one of those people who always want to know what happens so getting more of the story was great for me and I enjoyed the direction it took. The narrator does great job with it.
