Publisher's summary

Two thugs. One innocent woman. And one vicious frickin' werewolf.

Meet George and Lou, thugs for hire. The kind of intimidating-yet-friendly guys who will break your thumbs, but be polite about it.

Their latest assignment is to drive across Florida to deliver some precious cargo to a crime lord. The cargo: a man in a cage. Though Ivan seems perfectly human, they're warned that he is, in fact, a bloodthirsty werewolf.

George and Lou don't believe in the supernatural, but even if they did, it's daytime, and tonight isn't the full moon. Their instructions are straightforward: Do not open the cage. Do not reach into the cage. Do not throw anything into the cage. And they don't.

Unfortunately, Ivan doesn't play by the usual werewolf rules, and the thugs find themselves suddenly responsible for a ferocious escaped beast. One who can transform at will. One who enjoys killing in human form as much as he enjoys killing as a monster.

If George and Lou want to save their careers, dozens of people, and their own lives, they need to recapture him. Because Ivan the werewolf is in the mood for a murder spree....

From Jeff Strand, the three-time Bram Stoker Award nominated author of Pressure, comes 75,000 words of action-packed, blood-soaked werewolf terror!

Wow this was impressive!

pleasantly surprised. Not your normal "wolf" hint hint book. I like the character play of the two leads. I also liked the fact that this was "light" horror with humor & good character development. bad guys with morals & loyalty. Got to love it.

More Please

Would you consider the audio edition of Wolf Hunt to be better than the print version?

Yes, I think most audio books are better than print.

What other book might you compare Wolf Hunt to and why?

I don't know if I've read one quite like this. But I will keep an eye out for future books by this author as it was very entertaining, even hilarious in some parts.

Which character – as performed by Scott Thomas – was your favorite?

I really liked both George and Lou. The author did a great job of making them realistic and likable guys despite their profession. You find yourself rooting for them.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The scene in the house...that all I will say, don't want to spoil anything.

Any additional comments?

Makes me want more of the "Thug" Life

First, the narrator for this is perfect. He nailed every voice, made it his own and brought this book to life. Bravo

This story is about two "Thugs" named George and Lou who are given a rush job. They are told to transport a supposed Werewolf (who is already caged in a truck and ready to go) to a "customer" who wants to be bitten & turned into a werewolf himself.

At first nobody is believing this smooth talking guy in the cage could really be a Werewolf, but it's a job so they just start heading South and try to ignore the guy's pleas to be let out.

Along the way you learn George & Lou are really devoted to their jobs & have a great supportive relationship with each other that just brings you into the story right away. I just can't say enough about how awesome these characters are.

While driving they find out the Werewolf is real, completely crazy and manipulative. When he gets loose it's all out Thugs vs Werewolf war. Lots of blood, guts and everyone getting the snot beat out of them.

Can't wait for next installment. I've listened to it twice, made my family even listen to some of the parts. It is honestly that GREAT.

A werewolf story like you’ve NEVER heard!

Action. Horror. Comedy. A cast of characters like you have NEVER read in a werewolf book & I go through a lit of them!

This was by far the most original unique book in the genre ever! Even if you don’t like werewolf stories this is entertaining as hell!

Good audiobook

My first audiobook. I thought the story was well written. some laughs here and there and also being on the serious side too. The narrator brought the story to life. I especially liked it when the narrator did his impressions of the different characters, like for example, the female character, that was hilarious. Made me laugh. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys this type of comedy/horror. Now onto book two.

The Most Enjoyable Werewolf Title on Audible

Wow.

Before I gush, let me disclose that this audiobook was given to mefree in exchange for an honest review. Also, I am an audio producer and sound snob, and I am a merciless judge of sound quality and recording/editing techniques.

_Wolf Hunt_ has it all. Humor, action, gore, characters that you'll hate to love and love to hate. The writing is crackling with wit and, unlike many horror titles on Audible, it follows the seldom attempted path of starting great, being great in the middle, and concluding great.

The first thing that gripped me were the characters. I often find myself more taken with the setting of a story. The main characters are fun and funny. Their backgrounds are given through how they talk to each other and how they bicker. It felt like some of the old school Tarantino dialog from the 90s through the lens of a modern, progressive noir/crime lens. Then there really was a werewolf.

Some negatives. Sure, a few dozen people were horribly mutilated and graphically murdered by a werewolf, but I got icked out when some normal, non-supernatural canines were killed. It was not gratuitous or abusive, but WOW I don't like animals being hurt. The only other negative is that it is possibly a little too bloody for some listeners, but hey... Lycanthropes, right? They are going to use claws and fangs...and sometimes guns and knives.

The voice acting and audio production is OUTSTANDING. Clean, even volume levels on the dialog. Absolute professional quality -- truly a benchmark for other productions. Scott Thomas voices each character distinctly and in such a unique way that you can let yourself believe you are hearing an audio drama with multiple cast members.

Enough praise. This is worth a credit, This is worth full price. Excuse me, I need to immediately listen to the next installment!

Meet The Real Big, Bad, Wolf

I count on Audible reviewer Kim Venatries for direction in the Horror genre, and she certainly came through for me with her 5 star recommendation of "Wolf Hunt" by Jeff Strand.

A sociopath werewolf meets his match when two guys, who are no strangers to crime, are hired to transport our supernatural creature cross-country in a van. Add an innocent bystander, and the party begins.

Our affection grows for these two nutcases who are no match for the wild and crazy werewolf. This novel is violent and irreverent, yet somehow hilarious.

I think you would shelf this book somewhere between authors Moore and Butcher in the library of your mind.

Scott Thomas was a great choice for narrator, and could not have done a better job.

Action! Suspense! Comedy!

This book has it all!
Follow George and Lou, a pair of ne'er-do-well thugs as they transport Ivan the Werewolf from Miami to Tampa.
Naturally things don't go according to plan.
Tensions mount as George and Lou try to salvage what is rapidly turning into a very bad day.
Snappy dialogue that will have you stifling laughter breaks up the action and suspense.
I plan on listening to it again.

Abbott and Costello meet werewolf

This was good story. Way more comedy than horror. But it was funny. Worth the money not the credit.
