Publisher's Summary

John Kelly, former Navy SEAL and Vietnam veteran, is still getting over the accidental death of his wife, when he befriends a young woman with a checkered past. When the past reaches out for her in a particularly horrifying fashion, he vows revenge and sets out to track down the men responsible. At the same time, the Pentagon is readying an operation to rescue a key group of prisoners in a North Vietnamese prisoner-of-war camp. One man knows the terrain around that camp better than anyone: John Kelly. Kelly has his own mission. The Pentagon wants him for theirs. As Clancy takes us through the twists and turns of Without Remorse, he blends the exceptional realism and authenticity that are his trademarks with intricate plotting, knife-edge suspense, and a remarkable cast of characters.

Not His Best, But Worth The Read

Having listened to all of the Clancy books on Audible, I really enjoyed this one. I don't think it is his best, but still an interesting story line with a number of surprises. Clancys detailed descriptions and picture painting is always enjoyable. This book does contain lots of profanity. The "F" word abounds. I woundn't listen to is in traffic with the windows rolled down.
All in all a great listen with a great story. Kept me listening through several hours of heavy traffic.

Terrible abridgment; definitely get unabridged

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I bought the abridged version by mistake and the narrator is horrible. And due to the sloppy abridgment I was often lost and didn't really care about anything going on. My fault for not checking but I seriously wonder who benefits from these abridged recordings.

What do you think your next listen will be?

any other Jack Ryan book that hasn't been abridged and performed badly.

Would you be willing to try another one of David Dukes’s performances?

NO.
