Publisher's Summary

Adele Parks' emotionally powerful new novel asks the question: are there limits as to what you'd do for love? Eloise Hamilton is a Londoner born and bred, so it is a momentous day when she agrees to uproot to Dartmouth, leaving behind her perfect world so her husband can finally live in his. Then, when the family is thrust into unexpected turmoil, Eloise finds she is the one holding everything together - and by an ever-weakening thread. As her world implodes with the strain of being responsible for all around her, someone is bound to be overlooked. And the damage might be irreparable...

A brilliant read!

Would you listen to Whatever It Takes again? Why?

I would, especially when it has been awhile and I've forgotten the plot or I'm dying for a good Brit book/

Would you be willing to try another book from Adele Parks? Why or why not?

Yes. I have bought and read all of her books that you have to offer.

Which character – as performed by Charlotte Strevens – was your favorite?

ELOUISE!

If you could take any character from Whatever It Takes out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Elouise because she is witty, interesting and companionable.

Any additional comments?

This is not a chick lit, although you put it in that category. This book reminds me of some of Joanna Trollope's books. The complexity of the characters, the wit and unexpected plot twists are superb. As satisfying a read as a really delicious dinner out. The dialogue is perfect and I like the range of ages in the characters.

Odd pacing

Moves from mind numbingly dull detail and then adds lots of bigger sub plots all in one go.

Narrator was too formal

A good read!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this audiobook to a friend on their holiday. The story is relaxing and yet full of surprise.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Whatever It Takes?

The most memorable moments are when Margate saved little poppy and Mark rand and found them. It is all about love.

What about Charlotte Strevens’s performance did you like?

I like the narrator. The sound is smooth and touching

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

love, comedy

Any additional comments?

This is my first read of Adele Parks. I immediately fall in love with the book. In the story no one is perfect (especially Eloise) , however, everyone tries take whatever it takes to get what they want. I like the title, it's not only about Eloise's friend who tries to have a kid, but EVERYONE.

East listening but not a 'page turner'

Would you try another book written by Adele Parks or narrated by Charlotte Strevens?

I would if I wanted something easy to listen to and not to demanding on my attention.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It was a nice wrap up to the overall story.

Have you listened to any of Charlotte Strevens’s other performances? How does this one compare?

It was my first one - well narranted

Was Whatever It Takes worth the listening time?

It was but I would have preferred there to be slightly less predictability in the 'twists'
