Having overcome the many seeming obstacles to marrying Miss Elizabeth Bennet, his former employee and the woman of his dreams, Mr. Darcy must now reaffirm his promise to be a man truly worthy of her affections.
Confronted, out of the blue, with the intimate knowledge of her husband's rakish past, Elizabeth too is obliged to reconsider long held tenets that otherwise threaten to tear them apart.
If you enjoyed To Have His Cake (and Eat It Too), you will take pleasure in listening to what happens after the honeymoon is over.

Great story! Loved it!
I wasn't sure if I would like listening to the book but I was pleasantly surprised! I had the option of using a headset if others were around or listening while doing other things like making my tea! If you have been unsure just try it. I think you will like it!

Darcy's tale & entertainment continue
While listening to Ms Hewitt's outstanding performance in reading "What He Would Not Do," I am not doing mundane everyday activities, rather I am transported to a time long since past. I am wearing flowing gowns and attending balls! Ms Dixon's sweeping landscape is made vividly real by this narrator's rich and authentic vocal talent. Her accents are flawless. Individual characters are well defined in tone & timbre and therefore are easily distinguished and differentiated. Although I look forward to the resolution of story lines and subplots, I find myself sad when the book concludes.
While certainly this genre of writing may not be for everyone, Ms Dixon creates a world true unto itself. Yes, some of the character's decisions may seem illogical to us in 2014, but 'read' very true to the time period in which the story is set. It does make me realize how fortunate I am to be a female in this century and to be grateful for the liberties I have, yet helps one to understand the norms of that society and appreciate the choices they made even if I do not agree with them by today's standards. It is lovely to journey back to that time and then to come home again when the story is concluded.
Again, well done ladies!
