A gentle Eastern European immigrant arrives in New York City after his family and his life have been torn apart by his country's civil war. A man who loves to bowl rolls a perfect game - and then another and then another and then many more in a row until he winds up ESPN's newest celebrity, and he must decide if the combination of perfection and celebrity has ruined the thing he loves. An eccentric billionaire and his faithful executive assistant venture into America looking for acquisitions and discover a down and out motel, romance, and a bit of real life. These are just some of the tales Tom Hanks tells in this first collection of his short stories. absolutely brilliant!!!

I've always loved Tom Hanks as an actor, so talented and so versatile performing. Now I think I love him even more as an author: These stories are so creative, funny and unexpected - I stopped counting how many times I had to laugh out loud and caught myself giggling about the characters and their actions. Thank you Mr. Hanks, this is by far the most refreshing audiobook I've ever listened to and I hope you will continue writing as I can't wait to listen to more!

Oh how I wanted to love this book.

Tom Hanks is a great actor and director. I assumed this book would be great too. I hate to say that it is pretty much boring. And he's probably not the best narrator even. His voice is a little flat and monotonic. The stories are so-so but I'm finding my mind wandering off as I listen, and that never happens with a really good story.
