But underneath the shiny surface of this perfect existence, fault lines are beginning to appear, and no one is more surprised than Russ when he finds every aspect of the life he took for granted turned upside down. In a matter of months, Russ finds himself without a job or wife, caring for his young daughter while struggling to adapt to a new and baffling reality. Throwing himself into the wilderness of single parenting, Russ embarks on a journey at once terrifying and rewarding - one that will test his abilities and his emotional resources beyond anything he ever imagined.

I Am Stunned At The Good Reviews!
This book, was in a word- the worst Nicholas Sparks book I've ever read. It was almost as if someone else wrote the book entirely. Gone was the usual loving characters and the wonderful romance. There was no horrible factor keeping a perfectly 'in love' couple apart. There was no excitement, no 'can't wait to see what happens next.'
This is a long, boring story about a couple who are married and have a little girl together. As the wife starts to gain some independence, Dad is left taking care of their daughter. Nothing really happens except tedious, boring things in the day to day life of the couple. This story drags on for 14 hours of eye-rolling numbness and boredom, and although I listened- I really hated this book.
I think Nicholas Sparks is a fairly good writer. He's my guilty pleasure. I always get wrapped up in his stories, normally with a box of kleenex so I can cry through his impossible death scenes or terrible tragedies that befall his sweet, loving characters. I couldn't have cared less for any one character in 'Two By Two' and I absolutely detested this book. Hope Nicholas pulls it together for his next book- because this one was just horrific.

Mundane account of life
Marriage, children, divorce, death. The author has selected topics that could have spoken to many readers, but the book is cliche in places and falls flat in others. The foreshadowing, if that was intended, made the plot obvious. I kept listening assuming an unexpected twist was going to happen, but it didn't.
Unfortunately, the narrator made all the women sound whiny.

Different to other books
This is a different book compared to Nicolas other books. More about real life than the unique love stories of before. Loved it, made you cry and will need to read it a second time to get the whole experience. Highly recommended. Loved the song and the integration into the audio book.
