Publisher's Summary

An isolated Welsh island seemed like the perfect escape for a convict on the run, a jilted woman, and a policeman seeking a quiet life. When the surly locals turn to murderous violence the three visitors are forced on the run together, trying to stay one step ahead of their increasingly insane pursuers.
The bad news keeps coming. There are too many to fight. There is no escape from the island. And the worst storm in years has just begun. They can only run and hide as they face a night of horror and madness. If they don't work together then none of them will live to see the light of day.
This tense survival horror novel is a homage to decades of nasty villains, scary predicaments, and bloody books and films.

Bloody great story,

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If I had friends that were into audio books, I would definitely recommend it. It was graphic and gory and had a great story. The twist is well explained and very interesting.

What did you like best about this story?

The idea behind the what was happening on the island is one that i am very interested in. it is explained in great detail. Also really enjoyed the amount of carnage the story had for being on the shorter side.

What does Tom Freeman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

While his accent was a little tough to get used to (only cause i do not hear it all the time), once I acclimated to it, he was great. he did the accents and voices very well,

Who was the most memorable character of Turner and why?

Chris, the main character. He was interesting because at the outset of the story, he was not inherently good. He was someone who was on the wrong side of the law and hiding out. It shows the complexities and dichotomy of the human condition.
