Publisher's Summary

Once again Liane Moriarty uses her unique, razor-sharp observational skills to sift through the emerging fault lines of seemingly happy families.
If only they'd said no....
What if they hadn't gone? That's the question Clementine can't stop asking herself.
It was just a backyard barbeque. They didn't know their hosts that well. They were friends of friends. They could so easily have said no. But she and her husband, Sam, said yes, and now they can never change what they did and didn't do that beautiful winter's day.
Six responsible adults. Three cute kids. One yapping dog. It's a normal weekend in the suburbs. What could possibly go wrong?

Good book about stuff. Nothing fantastic.

It was an ok book. I didn't engage with the characters as much as the other books.

Getting too formulaic?

This was my least favourite Liane Moriarty book. Can't decide whether I've listened to so many of hers that I'm bored with her formulaic style or whether this one really was lacking the usual charm.
One thing is for sure, if I'm going to read about an Aussie BBQ then I'd choose Christos Tsiolkas' version every time!

A big disappointment :(

I usually adore Liane Moriartys books and was really looking forward to hearing this one despite the poor reviews.
Unfortunately it was awful. I had to force myself to listen until the end and was glad when it was over.
I kept having to go back a few minutes as my mind had wandered off.
It was a LONG story too :(

Not like the other books

I'm a huge Liane Moriarty fan and unfortunately this book was a big disappointment. The story line went nowhere and the narrator made all of the characters sound bitchy and bad tempered.
