Publisher's summary

Rachael O'Brien's summer starts with a promising trip to England with her eccentric grandmother, her dad's long-time assistant, and her very good-looking, very gay friend, Travis. She thinks that distancing herself from the southern men she's developed an appetite for is the emotional breather she needs. But for Rachael O'Brien, nothing is ever simple. An amethyst oyster brooch with a scandalous past leads her into trouble far from home.

Discovering that she has been followed across the Atlantic by a mysterious agent, surviving British culinary challenges becomes the least of Rachael's worries. After hotel rooms are ransacked and Dad's assistant is detained by Scotland Yard, Rachael and Travis buy time and escape down the River Thames in a narrow boat.

With thugs in pursuit and an unexpected shipmate aboard, Rachael's expedition crashes across England as she rushes to uncover the stunning secrets embedded inside the golden brooch in Paisley Ray's Toad in the Hole.

Worst British accent ever

The narrator does a great job except when attempting British accents. It would be better if she just read everything as an American

LOVED It!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book; this is the fourth book in the Rachael O’Brien Chronicles series written by Paisley Ray and narrated by Suzanne Cerreta. The narrator Suzanne Cerreta did a wonderful job with this book. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end. If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Great Summer Read!

I love the fun action of the 80's in the South. College is always interesting, but this is a real romp.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the different characters in the story and their totally different personalities all brought together.

Any additional comments?

The reader brings the story to life. Love the accents and the tone of her voice.
