Publisher's summary

Obedience assures the preservation of life.

Nine hundred thirty years have passed. Evil has overtaken the sons of Cain and fills the Earth with lasciviousness and violence. God declares he will not contend forever with man. Eight generations surround Adam's deathbed. Sixth generation Jared fathered Enoch who begat Methuselah. These grandfathers plant a forest of gopher trees though they don't know why, except that God put it on their hearts. Methuselah rears his son, Lamech, who becomes father to Noah, the only one of the tenth generation to walk perfect before the Lord and hears his word: Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. Evil, too, heard the word of the Lord, and Lucifer and his angels cause war in the heavens to destroy the Earth's inhabitants. With each child that is passed through the fire, their battle songs grow stronger, but the Lord works in mysterious ways. Noah's wife bears him three sons, Japheth, Ham, and Seth, and together all the men embark on the massive task of building the giant ark. Methuselah means "when I die, the deluge comes", and as the vessel of their salvation nears completion, he joins the grandfathers in paradise. One week later, the rain - which has never fallen on Earth before - begins.

Interesting details to an old story

This book was enjoyable to me. I found the story told was a delight to hear. I pondered what details I knew and what seemed to be missing from the Bible story of Noah's Ark. I wondered about the people involved, how they came to be, what their lives were like in those days, how they interacted as a family, etc., etc. Caryl McAdoo's interpretation of the events and people in the Noah's Ark story was great and it held my attention as I listened to the book. We will only ever know the true details when we meet God, himself and he listens to all our questions. Thanks Caryl for this enlightening and great read!!

Enjoyed this!

This is an eye opening fictional story of Noah's Ark. in this Christian speculative, the author takes scripture and adds her own thoughts to create a fun read of this historical, biblical event. I enjoyed this story very much via audio and could envision some of the scenes due to the good job the narrator did on this. I like that the author provides bible scriptures at the end of this book for readers to research.
