Publisher's summary

Hoping to make a clean break from a fractured marriage, Agatha Christie boards the Orient Express in disguise. But unlike her famous detective Hercule Poirot, she can't neatly unravel the mysteries she encounters on this fateful journey.

Agatha isn't the only passenger on board with secrets. Her cabinmate Katharine Keeling's first marriage ended in tragedy, propelling her toward a second relationship mired in deceit. Nancy Nelson - newly married but carrying another man's child - is desperate to conceal the pregnancy and teeters on the brink of utter despair. Each woman hides her past from the others, ferociously guarding her secrets. But as the train bound for the Middle East speeds down the track, the parallel courses of their lives shift to intersect - with lasting repercussions.

Filled with evocative imagery, suspense, and emotional complexity, The Woman on the Orient Express explores the bonds of sisterhood forged by shared pain and the power of secrets.

A great read

Most of the time I buy audio books because of the genera and rating without always reading the summary of what the book is about. Bring a Netflix binge watcher of Poirot, I was pleasantly surprised that this book was about Agatha Christie. It was beautifully written and had heartwarming story. It's one I will certainly listen to again.

Agatha

A startling tale of three women thrown together on a train. What followed changed all their lives. Each entered the train with singular issues. Literally thrown together, their destinies became intertwined. All as the train moved on to its destination. A peep into the personal life of Agatha Christie.

truly an excellent read

I loved this story; the journey on the orient express; the mystery: but most of all the characters; Well done with the 3 strong female characters but also the men were very well developed; loved the glimpse into Agatha Christies life, the narrator did an excellent job ; I always knew which character she was reading,

A quiet period drama

I loved this book. it was a period piece for a modern audience. The characters are all whole and mirror those from Christie's novels. highly recommend for anyone looking for a good yarn.

A welcome surprise

First to address the narrator. She is very good in her delivery. It is fairly easy to distinguish the character whom is speaking. I was not bothered by "accents" used. Now to the story. I sincerely appreciate all the "facts" that the author incorporated into her story. She is clearly well versed in Agatha's life. I enjoyed the author's use of historical fiction and it inspired me to get Agatha's autobiography on audio. The book is not full of foul language nor excessive descriptive bedroom scenes. It is certainly a good choice for a vacation book.

Wonderful read! Agatha would be proud!

It's not often I find a book that truly surprises me in a good way. While browsing I found this book, read the title and purchased it because I am a lifelong Agatha Christie fan. Listening to this book is like excavating a lost Christie work. Finished it in one continuous listen. Will return to this book time and time again just as I do to Christie's own novels. And it's less than $10!

superb

I acquired this shortly after it's release as Kindle First a few m8nths ago. l, because I'm a neophyte to Agatha Christie. nothing boy is this story packed with drama on both the tra8n and then across the deserts of 1928 Iraq (Mesopotamia). it will surprise you , who the villain actually is, but not much. you will cry at the bittersweet conclusion.
