Publisher's summary

With more than 200 million copies of his novels sold, Dean Koontz is an undisputed master. And in The Vision, he once again displays the talent that led the Chicago Sun-Times to call him "brilliant"- and the San Diego Union-Tribune to praise his "always riveting" writing and his "wonderfully fiendish" plots.

The Vision - one of Koontz’ early novels - is a chilling look into the paranormal and what occurs when a psychic channels the mind of a crazed killer. Mary Bergen, a gifted clairvoyant, uses her psychic ability and haunting visions to help the police solve crimes both past and present while feeling powerless to stop the murders, until she envisions her own death.

The Vision

The negative remarks I wish to make about this novel are made by the author at the end of the story. Koontz also admits that this is an early work.

Audible should disclose the original print date of a novel. More importantly Audible should not charge full price for a novel which by the author's own admission is inferior to the body of his work. This is not trustworthy.

A Koontz lover says Bad Koontz???

I think this is the worst Koontz I have read or listened to. It was not up to snuff. The characters are weaker than usual. There is less impressive humor, less impressive descriptions, and a graphic violence that I associate more with King than Koontz. Some parts don't even make much sense (which is rare for Koontz). Every author has a bad day and this book should have been left un-resurrected. Bad Koontz!

Very disappointed

I have read many Koontz books over the years. The plot of this book was very loose and the narration was poorly done. The woman character read by the male narrator sounded like she was whining every time her lines were read. It was hard to finish this book.

disappointing

I love Dean Koontz books but this one was way to predictable and the narrator doing the woman's voice was awful. Not a good one at all

Animals

Even if animal mutalation is part of life and definitely part of many sadistic killers horrific
behaviour, i wish there was a warning about it as it bothers me in the extreme.

A Very Good Book that's quick to get thru in a day

I stayed home sick one day and finished it all by dinner time! It was a bit scary, but on the whole, one of the tamest books written by Dean Koontz.

It was interresting to hear an earlier Koontz

Where does The Vision rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Even this early Koontz is better than most novels. Hints of what Koonz will become.

What could Dean Koontz have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Rewritten the book with his current ability! [SMILE]

Have you listened to any of Dan John Miller’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Nope.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me urge the writing & plot to come up to Koontz's current ability

Great Read!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It truly lives up the Mr. Koontz abilities. I love his writings and have done so for over 20 years. Thank you, Mr. Koontz.
