Publisher's summary

"Stephen King never stops giving us his all" (Chicago Tribune) in this number-one national best seller about the idyllic small town of Haven, Maine, and its encounter with a deadly evil out for a diabolical invasion of body, soul - and mind.

Writer Bobbi Anderson becomes obsessed with digging up something she's found buried in the woods near her home. With the help of her friend, Jim Gardener, she uncovers an alien spaceship. Though exposure to the Tommyknockers, who piloted the alien ship, has harmful effects on residents' health, the people of Haven develop a talent for creating innovative devices under their increasingly malignant influence.

In this riveting, nightmarish story, Stephen King has given us a "brilliant, riveting, marvelous" (The Boston Globe) novel. "You will not be able to put this down" (Los Angeles Times Book Review). And the next time someone raps at your door, you may want to keep the chain on. It just might be the Tommyknocker Man.

The Truth is Out There!

I admit that I'm in love with Stephen Kings uniquely, horrific and imaginative mind. I've also been a firm believer in aliens ever since X-Files came to be in the 90's. With that being said, Tommykockers was a perfect blend of horror and sci-fi! There were times where I felt the book dragged on and on with unnecessary commentary, but overall Tommykockers made my personal top 10 by SK. Narration was very well done and he definitely had me engulfed in this whirlwind story.
Grab on to your tin foil hats and hold your breath! It's the Tommykockers....the Tommykockers are knocking on your door next.

Good not great.

I liked it for sure. Started out very mysterious and just eventually became less interesting. Definitely not due to the length, the Stand could be my favorite book ever and it's a tad longer I think.

When King had Editors

I still love Stephen King, I just think his earlier work was sometimes reigned in a bit. He's so prolific and so brilliant, I feel like his stories can tend to bloat a bit. This is fantastic work with a fantastic editor.

Interesting concept. 5-7 hours too long

I always enjoy King. Concept was cool. Took awhile to get going. And it was about 5-7 hours too long. The concept was interesting, but over all I didn't fully connect with this one. It's still a good enjoyable read, just not my top 5 for King.

Stephen King, enough said.

Another chilling tale spun by the mind of a master, a mind not completely same, perhaps. I especially like his repeated use of the phrase, son of a whore.

Knocking at the door

Mr. Herrmann was a pleasure to listen to. Enjoyed the story very much.. For some reason or another, I missed this one when it came out in hard cover so getting to just listen to the story was enjoyable.
