Publisher's summary

Would you travel the world with a perfect stranger? Fasten your seat belts for an emotional journey filled with humor and adventure. Bachelor and newscaster Pete McCarney buys two plane tickets for a trip around the world with his girlfriend, but they split up shortly before the trip, and he can't get a refund. In a gutsy last-minute move, Pete goes on social media asking for women with his girlfriend's exact name to join him on the trip. Twenty-one women apply, and the ensuing interview process is both awkward and hilarious. When he finally chooses a feisty, headstrong, recently-divorced lawyer, he has no idea what to expect from their worldwide adventures - and neither does Allie James. She has pretty much sworn off men since her divorce. Will either of them get the vacation they were so desperately hoping for?

Contains mature themes.

Easy paced and enjoyable

This was a good book that was easy paced and enjoyable. Not too much angst, not too much drama, decent characters, and good ending. narration is perfect also.

Cute Story!

I loved the characters in this book. They were real & believable. Absolutely loved Pete, with his Irish accent and Gallic language. Overall very entertaining.

So Sweet!

This second chance story is just so Adorable that you smile thru it all. The characters are made for each other and very closed off. You will love this book.

Karma is a thing

I love the 2nd chance romance . It was fun and light but still had something to think about. We’re dealing with our ghosts and hang ups .

Unlikeable female protagonist

I stopped listening with 59 minutes to go. I could listen to Gary Furlong’s Irish accent forever, but the female character, who is over 40, acts with the maturity of someone in her twenties. That mostly just made me vaguely dislike her, but the way she behaves around her teenage children regarding her ex was the last straw. I kind of loathed her at that point and really didn’t care to continue.

I really don’t like all the swearing

I wanted to hear the story but the first 5 chapters were depressing and the swearing it just so unnecessary

Messy writing. Good start but the loses the point

Overall the story just isn't polished. The plot is interesting at first but then as though the author is unsure of how to conclude the story goes haywire throwing in s mismash of all sort of unnecessary threads. Sure some parts of the story are funny and some parts are sweet but there is not enough good to rate above a 3. The relationship feels organic at first with clever banter but then the sex scenes are rushed & feel forced making the reader uncomfortable. The authentic factor is missing, for example the FMC is 42... but acts like she is 15. The weird part is she changes her personality only at the end. I assume the author needed conflict so she created an issue were the heroine overreacts as a teen would. This causes a manipulation of the situation. Unfortunately it just doesn't ring true at all. Worse yet the author can't stop there, Instead, with only a chapter to go she create more new conflicts and an abundance of critical situations that have never been introduced prior. This does not add value to the original story it only muddys the storyline. What a mess! Finally, while I like the narrators, the female has an extremely young voice. Often dounding child like. This adds to a very real ISH factor to t he sex scenes. Ewww!
