Bravo to the narrators

African-American fiction is not just for entertainment. It can also be a medium for education. In this book, I wasn't expecting to learn about stuttering. But I did, and in the course of listening, I think I also learned the importance of showing compassion, not pity. A very nicely written, enjoyable story. I especially liked the fact that there were 2 narrators to give the male and female perspective.

Truly enjoyed this book. It keeps your attention the entire time. Just when you think you have it all figured takes a turn. What I loved most is that the story was awesome while teaching about people that stutter. I never gave it much thought...but now I feel truly educated about it. I think the way the author infused that into the story was BRILLIANT!!! I also loved the narrators for this. I'ma big fan of Ezra Night...but I was very impressed with Lizzy Cooper Davis' ability to capture all the raw emotions for the characters in this book!
