Yet they do meet, and to her astonishment, he holds no resentment towards her. Regrettably, someone else does. Publisher's summary
What if Darcy and Elizabeth were plunged into the war between England and France?
It is 1803, and a treaty has allowed England and France to enjoy a brief moment of peace in the midst of the Napoleonic wars.
Darcy is despondent over Elizabeth’s refusal of his proposal at Hunsford, so Colonel Fitzwilliam proposes a trip to Paris as a distraction. At a ball, Darcy unexpectedly encounters Elizabeth, who is visiting Paris with the Gardiners. He sees this as his opportunity to court Elizabeth properly and rectify past mistakes.
Before he can make much progress, however, England declares war again, and Darcy must help Elizabeth flee France. As they make their way to the coast, Elizabeth and Darcy must battle brigands, French soldiers, illness, and their own mutual attraction - all without a chaperone.
When they return to England, Elizabeth and Darcy have their own secrets to conceal - even from those closest to them.

The last thing Amelia Kennington wants is to participate in the London Season. But the daughter of a duke is not afforded such opinions. Story
The Netherfield Ball: classic. Predictable. Immortalized. But what if Elizabeth were forced to relive it over and over and over again? Night after night after night? Elizabeth: clever. Witty. Confident. Suddenly, her confusion and desperation make her question things she long thought she knew. Mr. Darcy: proud. Unapproachable. Ill-tempered. In this world where nothing is as it seems, Elizabeth must learn to see through new eyes. Including a man she thought she hated. Let the hilarity ensue.

When Fitzwilliam Darcy makes an impetuous offer of marriage to Miss Elizabeth Bennet, he is convinced they have as good a chance as any for a harmonious life together. That is, until an overheard conversation changes everything, and Darcy realizes he is now joined in perpetuity to a woman who loathes the very sight of him. Elizabeth Bennet's expectations for matrimonial accord were never very high, having accepted Mr. Darcy's proposal in a fit of pique, not love. ELIZABETH BENNET is determined that she will put a stop to her mother’s plans to marry off the eldest Bennet daughter to Mr. Collins, the Longbourn heir, but a man that Mr. Bennet considers an annoying dimwit. Hence, Elizabeth disguises herself as Jane and repeats her vows to the supercilious rector as if she is her sister, thereby voiding the nuptials and saving Jane from a life of drudgery. The Bennet family of Longbourn, Hertfordshire, had long been known to its neighbours as exceptionally learned though eccentric, but was tolerated because the first Bennets settled there more than four hundred years before, just after the great plague. Both the grandfather and father of the master, Mr. Thomas Bennet, married blue-stocking wives from the Continent. These circumstances had a profound effect on Mrs. Bennet and her five daughters. Because of this broader worldview, the Bennet family was more aware of, and affected by some historical events of the period far outside the twenty-...

Unless one knows the value of loyalty, he cannot appreciate the cost of betrayal. What if Darcy and Elizabeth met weeks before the Meryton assembly? Fun plot and great characterizatiins
Kincaid creates another fun plot. It’s entertaining to discover at what point the story will break off from Pride and Prejudice and go in a new direction. This one did not disappoint in its originality and excitement. Another excellent read!

🤩 👍👍
I have re-read this ebook on my Kindle app several times. I have always enjoyed it. When I saw this book being released on Audible, I bought it without hesitation. This was doubly so because Stevie Zimmerman is one my favorite narrators when it comes to Regency and/or Victorian era stories.
I enjoyed this story once again and Ms Zimmerman brought the book to life.
I hope more books by Ms Victoria Kincaid are released on Audible soon.

This hands down is my favorite P & P variation. Lots of twists, I was on the edge of my seat, I teared up a couple of times. I highly recommend. Oh, and the narration was done so well. Loved her French accent I could picture the entire story. Thank you Audible, I’m so happy my daughter started this for me.
