great narration, story good but now quite 5 star

As always, Simon Prebble's narration was great. He brings the characters to life and narrates with such emotion, it's always a pleasure. The story was good, but just seemed to be missing 'something'. Some parts were very suspenseful, such as the injury scenes and the unconventional 'cure'. Won't give anything away, but even being a nurse it made me squeamish. Don't let that keep you from the book though, actually very realistic for it's day. Just think some of the conflict resolution was lacking in the last half of the book. Lot's of build up to crises, but then kind of 'so-so' solutions. I did get this as a daily deal, for that price it was excellent. Would not want to use a credit on this. If you can get it on sale it is worth the listen. Historically very interesting if you like that period of English and Canadian history as I do.

Not my favorite but worth a listen

This was not one of my favorite books dealing with the Rogue's but it was still worth a listen to keep up with their stories. The male hero was one of the "rogues" but it's the heroine that fits the bill better in my opinion. I kept waiting for some real trouble to come up, but the little that was there just didn't excite me that much. Even when we find out the person that is causing the most trouble for this couple, it comes to a conclusion so quickly that I was left feeling a little down. I like series, so I'll keep on to those that are left.
