Publisher's Summary

She plays from memory. Her memories. The day after her 16th birthday, Princess Alia finds out that she's been given away in marriage to a man she's never met. The war has just ended, and for Alia's protection, she must travel to her future kingdom disguised as a chicken farmer's daughter. This princess-to-pauper story is filled with problems, prayers, and plenty of piano. This is the first book in the Counterfeit Princess series.

There are moments (in the book reading world) in which particularly moving books stand out. Piano Girl is that book for me. It has transcended a lot of what I assumed to be love. Dory's musings mirror a lot of my own, about life, about perseverance, about listening to GOD with both reverence and patience.

I also love historical and slightly fanciful stories. The diction is inspirational, we should all literally go back speaking with purpose. Mrs. Murray is perspicacious and her writing quite honestly helps me in my walk with Christ.

This is by no means the first time I've read this book. I've actually read it at least 5 or 6 times. Yet hearing the voices with it, it has kind of rocked me. This review may not be entirely clear. I don't know if you guys are like me, but I usually consume books. They are my weakness. There are times when after a book, you kind of just sit and think. This is that time for me. It was such a beautifully written and well told story. I am a bit in awe.

I've never actually used audible until now. I enjoyed it immensely. I won't say what the book was about, because I think every one should read it for themselves.

Good listen but I was ready for the ending

Any additional comments?

This was a very enjoyable listen full of wonderful characters, some fanciful, and an imaginative solution to a problem. The author did a fantastic job developing the story and the narrator delivered a great performance.

My only issue with this listen is that as the story lines converged, the true identity of the Piano Girl just took too long. I was ready for the HEA long before it came. Still, that's personal; I don't think anyone else listening will be bothered by that.
