Good listen but I was ready for the ending

Any additional comments?

This was a very enjoyable listen full of wonderful characters, some fanciful, and an imaginative solution to a problem. The author did a fantastic job developing the story and the narrator delivered a great performance.

My only issue with this listen is that as the story lines converged, the true identity of the Piano Girl just took too long. I was ready for the HEA long before it came. Still, that's personal; I don't think anyone else listening will be bothered by that.

I loved this Christian fairy tale

Piano Girl: Counterfeit Princess by Sherri Schoenborn Murray is a Christian fairytale reminiscent of The Prince and the Pauper and The Frog Prince. A young princess is sent on a long, dangerous journey undercover as a peasant to meet her betrothed. However, things go wrong, and she’s unable to reveal her true identity, thereby living as a peasant much longer than originally planned. There are giants and gnomes, etc.

I received this audiobook as a gift from the author in exchange for an honest review. And honestly, Ms. Schoenborn Murray has a new fan in me. I'm not sure if I've listened to Sarah Zimmerman narrate before, but her voice is very pleasing and her characterization is good.

Great for listening with girls.

Incredible.

There are moments (in the book reading world) in which particularly moving books stand out. Piano Girl is that book for me. It has transcended a lot of what I assumed to be love. Dory's musings mirror a lot of my own, about life, about perseverance, about listening to GOD with both reverence and patience.

I also love historical and slightly fanciful stories. The diction is inspirational, we should all literally go back speaking with purpose. Mrs. Murray is perspicacious and her writing quite honestly helps me in my walk with Christ.

This is by no means the first time I've read this book. I've actually read it at least 5 or 6 times. Yet hearing the voices with it, it has kind of rocked me. This review may not be entirely clear. I don't know if you guys are like me, but I usually consume books. They are my weakness. There are times when after a book, you kind of just sit and think. This is that time for me. It was such a beautifully written and well told story. I am a bit in awe.

I've never actually used audible until now. I enjoyed it immensely. I won't say what the book was about, because I think every one should read it for themselves.

Great story!

This was a great listen. My only complaint is that I didn’t want it to end. Sarah Zimmerman did a great job brining this story to life.

A very enjoyable, Ruritanian fantasy/romance

Princess Alia is a gifted pianist, and also the heir to the crown of the kingdom of Blue Sky. Her kingdom has been at war for twelve years, and it has just ended.

On the day after her sixteenth birthday, Princess Alia discovers she's being given away in marriage to a man she's never met. For her safety, she's got to travel in secret, disguised as a chicken farmer's daughter, to the kingdom of Yonder. She's about to get an education she never imagined.

This is a Ruritanian fantasy, set in two imaginary European countries. It never pretends to be anything that it's not. The prince she is betrothed to is Prince Ron. Along the way, she encounters giants, dwarves, and gnomes. She crosses a swamp that's a special kind of trap for the unwary, and a meadow that's a magical respite.

For all these fantasy elements, and the lack of pretense in many of the details that this story is in any way realistic, the pampered Alia gets an excellent education in the real world of the lower classes of the two kingdoms, and Alia, Ron, and many of the characters around them are likable and interesting. It's an enjoyable story, and while there's certainly a message, it's in no way heavy-handed or overbearing.

A very pleasant interlude. Recommended for those who enjoy likable characters, "clean" romance, and are freewheeling enough to enjoy the Ruritanian aspects of this one.

I think I bought this book. I don't always remember, when I have put a book aside for a few weeks before I bring it to the top. Regardless, I am reviewing it voluntarily.
