Publisher's summary

Brook Eden has never known where she truly belongs. Though raised in the palace of Monaco, she's British by birth and was brought to the Grimaldis under suspicious circumstances as a babe. When Brook's friend, Justin, uncovers the fact that Brook is likely a missing heiress from Yorkshire, Brook leaves the sun of the Mediterranean to travel to the moors of the North Sea, to the estate of her supposed family. The mystery of her mother's death haunts her, and though her father is quick to accept her, the rest of the family and the servants of Whitby Park are not. Only when Brook's life is threatened do they draw close - but their loyalty may come too late to save Brook from the same threat that led to tragedy for her mother.

As heir to a dukedom, Justin is no stranger to balancing responsibilities. When the matters of his estate force him far from Brook, the distance between them reveals that what began as friendship has grown into something much more. But how can their very different loyalties and responsibilities ever come together? And then, for a second time, the heiress of Whitby Park is stolen away because of the very rare treasure in her possession - and this time only the servants of Whitby can save her.

Great story

I loved this book when I read it! I'm not crazy about the narrator in the audible version though.

Exceptional read!!

I loved this story from beginning to end. It was exhilarating, thrilling and was truly “edge of your seat nail-biting” excitement. It had everything a reader could want; mystery, love, loss, excitement and thrill.
I listened to this book so quickly because I couldn’t stop myself from wanting more. Very well written and narrated. I enjoyed it immensely. Looking forward to the next book 📚 in the series. 🤓😄

Looking Forward to Book 2

Would you listen to The Lost Heiress again? Why?

Yes. It was a pleasant story with Christian ideals. This was so refreshing. I would not consider myself to be a bible-thumper, but it was so heartwarming to hear, so naturally, ideals that I grew up with artfully woven into an enjoyable story.

Which character – as performed by Liz Pearce – was your favorite?

The Heiress, of course. I enjoy stories about strong, but real, women, despite the fact that this is a fictional book. Its a good story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a little - but not an extreme reaction. That is kind of why I liked it so much. It was a good read...listen.

Any additional comments?

Ms. White is a very good writer. I hope she adds some of her other books to Audibles. I look forward to listening to them all.

Excellent story

Written well. Kept me interested and well entertained. I am recommending this book to my daughter. I appreciate that there were no sex scenes or profanity.

Ok but in great need of editing

My final impression of the book was that it was way too long. Halfway in, I became bored. It's another one of those manufactured "we can't be together but I can't say why" reasons that never make sense For 2 people who had been bffs all their lives you would think one of them would venture to communicate.

I did hang in till the end because I enjoyed the mystery plot. There are several good momemts, but the entire book is too wordy and could have been told in 3/4 the time.

I didn't feel the Christian aspects got out of hand as some other reviews have suggested. Mostly, the entire reference to religion is through the consistent use of prayer by all the characters, and that's about it.

The narrator tried hard to create a bunch of accents to distinguish between characters, but they all fell a bit short.

An amazing story!

This is not the first story I have read by this author, but this is the best one yet! It was well written and a delightful story as well. It is a clean Christian story written in the regency period! I would recommend this to all ages. It is one of the best Regency stories that I have ever read! I highly recommend this one!

One of my favorites!

Loved it! The narrator was by far one of the best. She really made the story so much better. I always listen to samples before I purchase. I've barely been able to finish a book when the narrator makes all men sound old and crotchety. This narrator had great accents for French, Irish and English. So good!
