Publisher's summary

Danielle Stevens is Hollywood's "next big thing" in a long line of next big things. When she goes to Dallas to prepare for a role - shadowing Detective Harper Jeremiah - she's not only running from her fame...she's also running from a stalker.

Harper Jeremiah wouldn't recognize a Hollywood actress even if she bumped into one on the street. The last thing she wants to do is to get pulled from her current case to have an actress follow her around. But the perceived babysitting gig quickly turns into a protection detail as the threats against Dani escalate. The two women form a bond as secrets are shared, trust builds, and the stalker turns into a hunter.

As the stalker's pursuit becomes relentless, Harper becomes even more determined than ever to protect Dani at any cost. But could that unwavering conviction get them both killed?

not my fav Gerri Hill. but good

I was excited to see a new Gerri Hill book. the story was good, but, compared to other Gerri Hill audiobooks, this wasn't one of my favorites. still, this is a very good listen. I love several books by Hill. so I guess I expect perfection from her now. this story line started off great but somehow I wasn't overly in love with the characters. I liked them. but something was missing for me. still, it was nice to get a new Gerri Hill mystery!

Excellent Audio!

I loved The Locket. Yes, it's a story we all know well. Actor shadowing a real life detective to get a feel for a part. But things certainly heat up quickly between Danielle Stevens and Detective Harper Jeremiah. Just a note: this novel does involve a stalker. If this bothers you, you might need to skip this one.

Excellent Audiobook!

This is definitely one of my favorite audiobooks so far this year.

The suspense was on point, the romance was a delight and the narration was exceptional.

Utterly brilliant

Tired, Weak, Derivative

Though I'm a big fan of Gerri Hill I've not been all that impressed by any of her 'cops and robbers series'. Well this tired, weak, derivative excuse for a Gerri Hill novel is needless to say not any better; in fact it isn't as good. I've given every one of the writer's works available on Audible a chance; I've made it a point to listen all the way through all of them. Until now; in fact I didn't make it even halfway through this before giving up. I could enumerate the varied weaknesses of this particular story but I'll pass. the only reason this one earned two stars instead of one is loyalty to the author.

Wild and creepy ride

Loved this book. Harper is such an interesting character, she’s moral to fault perhaps, hard working and intelligent in so many ways. Dani is funny, beautiful, and needs an unbiased kind of love we all hope for. Mixed with creepy shenanigans of a serial rapist and or killer..whew! First time hearing Genevieve narration.... you’re amazing. Accents, tones, and emotions are portrayed flawlessly. ❤️

Very good book

Very good suspenseful story . Harper and Dani were excellent main characters. Had a lot of chemistry! Really scary stalker! Supporting characters were also very good!

The narrator was good.

Hunted

Detective Harper Jeremiah is selected to be the police officer that Hollywood actress Danielle Stevens rides with for a week. Unfortunately the stalker of the actress follows her from Hollywood. No matter where they hide he finds them. A thrilling mystery and romance.

Okay aonther Gerri Hill stunner, but...

I have decided that I just love anything written by Gerri Hill, as long as I read it myself or it is read by a talented narrator. This time I found myself struggling to hold to the story because of the narrator. PLEASE don't use that person again. I was like having a drag queen read. I have nothing against drag queens but give me a break, the voice of a man reading a lesbian sex scene is not a turn on. It would have been more exciting to take a cold shower while sitting in a bucket of ice. Don't get me wrong, I love a female husky voice, my favorite aunt had a very very husky voice but she didn't read lez fiction to me and I would prefer it if this narrator never read lesbian fiction again. I feel like asking for a refund and taking a cleansing shower with Comet cleanser and a scrub brush.

Chemistry?

No real chemistry between female leads and one which claims she is a lesbian sleeps with multiple men just to stay in the closet and has affairs with married women. Her personal character is garbage and personally I wouldn't want anything to do with her.
