Publisher's Summary

Agatha was the picture of primness and propriety, although her green eyes could blaze with anger or sparkle with humor. Scott was the picture of lazy charm and happy indifference to what others thought was right and wrong. They were enemies, then friends. Then the sweet innocence of a child opened their eyes and their hearts. And in each other's arms they were reborn by the soft, wondrous gift of love.

Disappointing

I love this book and have read it several times. In fact I read it yearly. What is disappointing is that all the best bits are cut out. A lot is cut out. So much so that you don’t to fully comprehend the characters feelings for each other. It ends up sounding contrived and superficial. There needs to be an unabridged version.

narrator is great, abridged book not so much

I have this book and have loved it everytime I've re-read it. unfortunately, who ever decided to abridge this has robbed listeners of some of the depth of the story. it's a real shame
