Publisher's summary

Weed Clapper, a witty, resilient 17-year-old, journeys to Indiana amid the growing racial unrest of 1960. When his black friend is terrorized by the KKK, Weed begins to uncover the dark secrets of this small Midwestern town. He turns to his beautiful young teacher for support, and tumbles into a most forbidden love affair. Laugh out loud funny, and yet achingly poignant, the story of Weed's journey to defy convention and to defend his sense of justice will cause you to stand up and cheer for this charming, hilarious - and unlikely - hero.

I've never actually written a negative review before..until now. The story is good but for the first time I believe that I would

have enjoyed it more if I had read it instead of listening. Unfortunately, this narrator read like an elementary student... very poor narration:(

Fun story

The story produced a variety of emotions from being sorry for the main person to outright laughter. The character's wit was excellent. The narrator is easy to listen to and makes the character's personalities more interesting and adds more layers to their personality I think he makes listening to the story enjoyable.
