Publisher's summary

Owen was a normal high school student with a great life. He had a beautiful girlfriend, played on the football team, and was surrounded by a group of great friends. That is, until he found a well on some abandoned land, and a man who offered him a drink of water that changed his life forever. Suddenly, Owen is seeing things that no one else sees: Shackles and chains that bind his family and friends, terrifying creatures that connect themselves to the cuffs attached at the end of the chains, and angelic beings who seem to have a power that even the demons cannot withstand.

Do the things Owen is seeing have anything to do with the suicide epidemic currently threatening to destroy his high school? How can this young man with no faith in the supernatural suddenly see invisible forces of terror provoking his fellow students' demise?

Similar to Frank Perretti's This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness, The Delusion explores spiritual warfare in a fresh way, reminding us that we all have our demons.

Wow!!!

This book is amazing! It might be fiction, but the story it tells is as real as they come!

Make no doubt about it, there is a battle going on, and you are the prize!

The Delusion by Laura Gallier

I just have to first start off by saying thank you to the author, maybe in the hopes that she might run into this review one day.
For quite sometime I had continualously been talking to my daughter about taken up audio books if she had no time to read books of her own interest. This is the first audio book my little one chose at the age of 14.To my amazement I strongly encourage her to focus on school & she is doing quite well, 4.0 GPA to be exact.I would above all encourage for to look to God.So I was blowing away when we were having a conversation & I honestly mentioned to my daughter, that I wish people would hear me out sometimes. The best way I could describe to my little one, that God had giving me many abilities & one of these abilities was that I could see saddness in their eyes but most of all the chains that were attached to them ,
That weighed them down so heavly. It sounded crazy I said but I could see what others could not. That's when my daughter hit me like it if we're with a ton of bricks , like that audio book where that boy could see chains on people.I was like what, yeah that audio book you said I had to chose one. It's says that I responded, my little one said yeah I heard some of it & read the summary.I was blowing away & I began listening to it, I sound delusional right. This story i could relate to it so much almost as if you write it just for me.I don't know everything I only know what I have been taught. What I have learned about coincidence, it is God at work.So I strongly recommend this book for anyone struggling to believe in A Creator or anyone doubting their faith in a world gone wrong.Keep in mind I said these things long before I read this book, for once upon a time I did not believe or could not see just like the main character Owen......Until one day I was giving living water to drink.Thank you to my daughter for I would not have come across this book if it were not for The Light you carry inside you.I love you always.

Very enjoyable story with good theology

I really enjoyed this book. As someone who has been taught about and some experience with the “unseen realm”, I appreciated most of what the author presented and know that the reality is closer to this than most disciples of Christ Jesus want to believe. The one caveat to that is that not all demons look (or sound) vial. According to the Bible, our adversaries often appear as angels of light, and the lies they tell often sound good and true (things we would very much like to believe). Still, I thought the writing was well enough done and really enjoyed it. I look forward to the next book!

placing names on demons lost it for me

Narrow depiction of spiritual warfare. The prayers of believers would hold more power than was allowed in this story.

Dark, gloomy, not very encouraging story

The basic idea of viewing the spiritual world that others can't see is okay, however, the focus was on the evil dominating that world. The main character was also way too much of an idiot to figure things out. I was getting way too frustrated with him by the end of the of the story when he finally gets it. The story was too much of a downer with not many highlights.

Great story

This is a great story. I didn’t know it was a type of religion book when I started it but it turned out really good. The story telling and detail was really good. Enjoying where this is going.

AMAZING!

What a unique way to look at faith and how that translates into our physical world. Gut wrenching and real, I couldn't put it down.

Redemption with a terrifying twist.

I really enjoyed the protagonist (Owen) and his journey throughout this whole book. I also really enjoyed the message about spiritual warfare and the need for redemption. The comeback details in this story was truly brilliant and compelling. Overall, it felt like reading an old school, creepy, early 2000’s, young adult, paranormal story come to a more modern perspective with a Sunday school lesson involved and I really liked it. I look forward to the seeing what the next books in The Delusion Series have in store.
