Please refund credit. Not as advertised!

Only "The Dead". No other stories, as indicated on Audible. Therefore very disappointing. Would have chosen another recording of this great short story if I had known. Waste of One Credit.
Please refund credit and tell me which recording has "The Dead" AND other stories.

First Exposure to Joyce

Okay stories. I may just not be a Joyce type. A lot of description that, while good, actually diminished the story for me. The writing was so exceptionally tight, it left me little room to follow the actual story - and not much of the emotion. Again, it could be just me.

Less Expensive But . . .

I'm a Joycean and very familiar with Dubliners so I downloading this because it was so inexpensive; I mean, it's well worth the money, it's just missing some of the stories (e.g., my favorite, The Sisters) so, ultimately I'd go with the full Dubliners audio. 'Tis a fact...brilliant!

Does Well In a Pinch

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Sure

Would you be willing to try another book from James Joyce? Why or why not?

As an English major I probably will.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

True to how the story reads.

Was The Dead and Other Stories worth the listening time?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

Had to read The Dead for an English Lit class. Listening to the audio helped to reinforce my understanding of the story. James Joyce is quite complex, and hearingbhis work read aloud was most helpful.
