Worked for what I'd intended

namely light, "background" listening (after heavier stuff). One of her earliest works, and it shows; I came to think of it as "an expanded short story written by a student who shows future promise." Narrator did a good job handling the material.

Amazing Elizabeth!

70%

What other book might you compare The Clock Winder to and why?

Blue Thread. Both by Ann Tyler. Both delve into family relationships.

Have you listened to any of Pamela Gold’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

NO. She did a good job. She embodied the heroine, made you want to know and understand her better.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Timothy was shot.

Any additional comments?

Another great book from one of my favorite authors.
