Unsettling parallels

The more I read the book the more it felt like the diary of a radicalised extremist (with magic powers).
The main character is groomed and hardened by circumstances and by Lucian. She becomes alright with violent bombings and murder. She sets about converting others to her cause.
And then there was that very Martyr-like beheading.

Hmm. Unsettling ....

Anti-climactic ending

Anti-climactic ending compared to long, slow build up. Battle was over in a jiffy. It was like the author got bored after working on the story for so long and then just wrapped up the ending to be done with it. Disappointing.
