destructive abridgements

Any additional comments?

I try to practice advocacy journalism and avoid posting negative reviews but in this case i am called to speak truth to the marketplace.
These abridgements are destructive to the rhythm and substance of Peters’ historical narratives and dialog.
Jacobi’s reading is [as always] masterful — none the less--
In my view— these recordings are acceptable only as a kind of memory aid supposing you are intent on reading and studying Peters’ marvelous series.
Unabridged versions of these novels as audio books are available tho quite expensive.
Hopefully Audible will make these available to us in the future.
Sincerely, wl

Not for first time readers to the series

The Brother Cadfael books are excellent, but if you have not read or listened to these stories before don't start with this set. The abridged nature of this set changes the flow of the books. Though if you have I wholeheartedly recommend it especially if you enjoyed Cadfael on Mystery!.
