Publisher's Summary

The rich farmlands of the Dakota Territory in 1887 are finally beginning to yield the abundant harvest the pioneers had dreamed about so long. The establishment of the railroad has brought significant changes to the small town of Blessing as well as prosperity to the Bjorklund family and their neighbors.
Among the townsfolk is reverend John Solberg. The reverend, rejecting the persistent efforts of matchmaking mothers, develops a friendship with Mary Martha through their common love of books. But then the message arrives that she must return home to care for her ailing mother. When she leaves, she says that she'll write. Reverend John and the other townsfolk are left to wonder, is this good-bye forever?

Painful Narrator

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Try a more fluid narrator this women sounds almost like a computer and her character voices are subpar.

Would you recommend Tender Mercies to your friends? Why or why not?

Not sure because it is painful to get through.

Would you be willing to try another one of Callie Beaulieu’s performances?

No.

What character would you cut from Tender Mercies?

Cannot even get through chapter 1

Any additional comments?

The storyline seems ok. But I will not likely be able to get through this one. The narration is flat and computer/robotic like.
