Publisher's summary

Evangeline Keating came West because she had to: after her husband's passing, she needed to build a new life for her young daughter, and marrying a stranger from Montana Territory was her best chance. After a difficult winter journey, she arrives at an isolated outpost called Springwater Station. But the handsome man who's come for her is not her husband-to-be, and Evangeline soon finds herself thrust into a most inconvenient - and highly improper - arrangement. Scully Wainwright never intended to be left alone with his ranching partner's fiancée. But his partner's not due back until spring, and he can't leave a defenseless woman and her child unguarded - not with wolves and Indians threatening. Biding his time with the lovely Evangeline begins to feel dangerously close to setting up a real home. But as a reckless passion sparks between them, Scully and Evangeline discover a destiny - and a passion - as boundless as the open frontier.

The Best!!!

I am so thankful I found Linda Lael Miller and this series! Wow. A long story but I loved it... The narrator spoke slower than I would like so I sped it to 1.2 and it was perfect! Her different characters voices were so good and she told the story perfectly! I cannot wait to hear more of this series! This one had me wanting to speed it up to make sure everything turned out well, although I knew it would in the end!!

As Abigail says "SPECTACULAR"

I love Linda Lael Miller's historical western novels. I gobble them up as quickly as Audible makes them available. At last count, I think I owned nearly 40 titles by this author. This one though, is hands down, my favorite of them all.

Bad language and unsuitable for Christians

The story was great and the narrator was awesome but the nasty language and love scenes didn’t make for a better story as a matter of fact would have been better without them. Because I am a Christian with strong biblical teaching I will not listen to anymore of this authors books.

Couldn’t stop listening!

I can’t say enough good things about this book! Linda Lael Miller is one of my favorite authors, and this book met every one of my expectations, and more. The story line was exciting and very well written. Passion, gallantry, danger, and heroic acts abounded. I’m excited to begin the second book in the series....having the audiobook version makes it possible for me to listen while taking care of my work or my household duties, and still enjoy a wonderful story!

Just so-so. Not Linda Lael Miller's best.

The narrator wore me out with her drawn out pronunciation and over-exaggerated pauses for effect.

Prolific foul language and graphic descriptions

The story starts out real good and seemingly clean. However after the listener is fully entrenched in the story then comes just an occasional foul word. You might think OK I can deal with an occasional foul word thrown in but it doesn't stop there. As the story progresses the foul language becomes more and more prolific until seemingly not a sentence can complete without profanity or foul words. Same thing for graphic descriptions. The book is clean up until the reader is fully hooked on the story and then comes one graphic description and then another and then another and the story is totally ruined for anyone who was looking for clean language and a clean story.
