Publisher's Summary

For three years, the Nazis have held France hostage, terrorizing its citizens, and deporting Jews to work camps in the East. A company of brutal SS Panzer troops have taken over the City Hall of Caen and control the heartbeat of the city. Local bands of Resistance fighters operate in the shadows to disrupt, derail, and destroy German operations.
The OSS recruits Nick Jordan, an accomplished Yale athlete, to join an elite commando unit. He and his fellow candidates are put through a year-long training regimen at a covert base learning skills and tradecraft far beyond those of the typical soldier. Their initial mission, Operation Wolfhound, takes them into that German-held territory to seek and kill enemy forces in support of the D-Day invasion. The Nazis have never faced a weapon like Nick Jordan.

a Fun listen

Where does Special Force rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In the top 5

What was one of the most memorable moments of Special Force?

The argument the main character has with his parents. A Yale man and father has life planned out. A two sport athlete he wants to be a spy in OSS vs Naval intelligence. a bit over the top ( as was the whole audiobook) which made it fun like the old RKO WW2 Films

Have you listened to any of Patrick Freeman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No; but he us very good. He did an excellent job of conveying emotion and speech patterns

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed as it reminded me of the 1940's-50's serials. A french girl, bullets flying over their heads and the evil Gremans etc.

Any additional comments?

Give Me MORE!

Darren Sapp has penned a smoking good WWII yarn that left me eager for the next installment. The characters were authentic and the wartime atmosphere had a gritty truthfulness that left me enjoying the story that much more. Patrick Freeman did a professional job with the narration especially juxtaposing the male and female characters with French , German , English and American accents. Well done all around. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator."
