Not what I expected

This book has really been an eye opener, I thought is was going to be the run of the mill book with pure ghetto drama. Instead, it's a group of 30 something trying to truly figure out their way in the Hood and getting caught up. I have to see how the second part goes and see if I can give that 5 Stars. If so, I may have to see what other books are out there by these authors.

Good storyline, but terrible reader

The book is not terrible. There were some parts that were predictable, but still good. I laughed, was talking to myself out loud while listening to the book (about what was happening. I'm I the only person who does that? )But the only downfall was the reader. She didn't give life to the characters. She didn't try to become the characters, and that helps paint the picture. At times I thought I should read myself.
