Would you consider the audio edition of Simone: Adventures in Dating (Boxed Set), Books 1-5 to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print version, but I loved the audio version. I picked this up after listening to CARPE DiEMILY, which continues Simone's adventures. CARPE DiEMILY is one of the funniest books I've ever read, so I didn't know if this one would measure up. It did, and then some. I loved how this book wrapped up, leading right into CARPE DiEMILY. The author did a good job of tying the two books together. Both books are strong in story, humor, and characterization.
Who was your favorite character and why?
All of the characters were great: Simone, the billionaire, the cop, the cowboy (OMG, just wait until you get to that book!), the attorney...all were done well and with realism and humor.
Which scene was your favorite?
I enjoyed the humor in this book. The scene with the cop, when he's surrounded by the old ladies, was hilarious. I also loved the scene with the cowboy and his "truck." I laughed so hard at that scene that my husband wanted to know what was so funny. I played it for him, and he busted out laughing, too. Then he borrowed the book to listen to on his way to work. He really liked the book and said it was very funny, so this book definitely appeals to both men and women (my guy usually only likes sci-fi, so that's saying a lot!). It helps that there were some steamy erotic scenes, LOL. Really, all of the scenes in this book were good. They just got funnier and more enjoyable as the book progressed. I grew to really like the character of Simone as the story developed. She's the entertaining friend we've all either had or wish we had!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed A LOT! I love this author's humor and writing style. The narrator was great. She brought a nice dimension to the characters, and her humor was spot-on.
Any additional comments?
I liked the unexpected moments in this book, and the things I didn't see coming. This book was anything but predictable. I would say it's one of the more original, fun books I've listened to. It was over much too fast.
