Publisher's Summary

Little Victoria, orphaned at birth, has been raised by the woman she believes to be her great-grandmother in a cottage on the Darlonachie Estate. When Jane McCrady dies, the Pringle family, tenants of the Laird of Darlonachie, offers Victoria a home. The Pringle brothers, especially Andrew, take Victoria under their wing, and she is allowed to work in the kitchens of the castle, once the domain of Mistress McCrady. As Victoria grows into a beautiful young woman, and a talented cook, she must face up to new choices and opportunities, and come to terms with a long-buried secret in her past.

Disappointed

What would have made Secrets in the Heather better?

I am very disappointed that there is cursing in this book.

Would you ever listen to anything by Gwen Kirkwood again?

It is doubtful that i will listen or read anything by Kirkwood again.

Any additional comments?

I think I will stick with Miss Read, and D. E. Stevenson.
