In the beautiful, savage islands of Wefrivain, four teenagers struggle to learn the answers to questions that will reshape their world. Before they became legends, they were just kids.
Secret Things is a collection of four stories about characters from The Guild of the Cowry Catchers series - Thessalyn, Silveo, Lu, and Gwain. Whether you're a fan of the books or a newcomer, these tales of redemption, dysfunction, mystery, and wonder will entertain and surprise you.
While these stories are not overtly explicit, they are sometimes harrowing and are not intended for children.
Stories included are "Sky Dance", "Professionals", "Chemistry", and "The Secret".

Wonderful Cowry Catcher background stories
I would recommend this collection of stories to anyone who has enjoyed the Cowry Catcher series. It could serve as an introduction to the world, and the author does a good job of filling in what you need to know. However, I think the stories are much more enjoyable if you have an understanding of the world and characters. It makes the in-jokes so much more fun when you know where things go later!
I love all the stories in the collection, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be Professionals, for the simple fact that it is a full-cast performance. It was a joy to hear Norm Sherman voice Sylvio again--with a wonderful audio quality that made him sound like a younger version of himself that really added to the realism of the story.
Part of what is enjoyable about this collection is that it is not just Abigail Hilton reading the stories. Having a full-cast story and Christ Lester reading Gwain's story make this a true performance, which added to my enjoyment immensely. Abbie's reading is clear and well-produced. Having the author read a story always makes me feel like I am getting closer to the story, since I can hear inflections, pacing, etc. that tell me I am hearing the story the way it was intended to be heard.
The climax of Sky Dance makes me cry every time I hear it. It is incredibly moving and beautiful and evokes deep emotions. Wonderfully written!
I loved this book for the depth it adds to the experience of the Cowry Catcher series. Highly recommended!

A warm set of short stories of some "old friends"
I have listened to this set of stories several times, and once again today. This is a set of stories from The Guild of the Cowry Catchers series. If you are a fan of the series, it is like hanging out with friends and talking about their histories. Even reliving it through the sounds and music.
One of the characters is blind. listening from her point of view, you feel equally encumbered. It is a neat sensation that you don't get much in a book. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Probably Gwain was my favorite in this collection, with his booky antics and his curiosity of learning... It was nice to relive his memories from his journal writings.
Perhaps "Learning the Secrets About Wyverns"
