Publisher's Summary

When Susie's maiden aunt gives her a housekeeping journal, she expects Susie to use it for jotting down nutritious recipes and planning household budgets. But Susie has more important things on her mind... Like how to keep sane while trying to control a four-year-old diva who thinks she's Judy Garland, as well as a thrill-seeking toddler with a death wish? Not to mention managing a demanding husband who expects a home-cooked meal at least once a fortnight and inconsiderate parents who seem to think luxury spa breaks are more important than spending time with their grandchildren. Susie's journal chronicles a hectic year in the life of a stay-at-home mother, whose one ambition is to possess an outfit that is free of snot stains.

Secret Diary of a Demented Housewife

I loved this story so much, I wanted it to go on forever. It was funny and real! The only bad bit was that it ended!

Secret Diary of a Demented Housewife

Very funny, bit like an Irish (married with children) Bridget Jones, highly entertaining, but scarily close to familiarity - we've all been where Suzie (main character and diary keeper) is. Well written, highly amusing, well narrated and I fully recommend it, you won't be sorry.

Self-indulgent & painful!

I struggled through this and couldn't figure out where it was going.... it didn't actually go anywhere... Susie is an awful woman who is completely self-obsessed! She has no time or interest in anything or anyone but herself. The whole thing is completely self-indulgent from both the author and the lead character. Quite frankly couldn't wait for it to be over!

It should have been easy listening as the narrator is very good, but it was disappointingly painful - I kept expecting Susie to have a change of attitude, learn a few lessons in life or something, at least that would have been something...

I felt genuinely sorry for the narrator who had no choice but to see this through to the bitter end, but take my advice, don't bother...
