Publisher's summary

In popular Texas author Anna Jeffrey's gripping tale, tragedy reunites a brooding sheriff with the woman he's never forgotten. Returning to his hometown of Salvation after 15 years, homicide detective Rusty Joplin is elected sheriff, despite the opposition of wealthy Randall Ryder. After examining the horse-dragged body of Ryder's daughter Carla, sister of Rusty's old flame Elena, Rusty finds evidence of foul play. But as this baffling investigation heats up, so does Rusty's smoldering attraction for Elena.

dull!!!

I have read 1,000,s of books in my lifetime and this was one of the most boring books I have ever read. I only finished it because I paid full price for it instead of using my book club quota because I needed a book to listen to while driving. There was no substance, no depth, no characters you could bond with. I am not a writer so I feel bad about trashing someones book but I don't pretend to be a writer either.
