In 1999 she received the Prime Minister's Award for Literature and in 2004 the Patras Bokhari Award - both awarded by the Pakistan Academy of Letters. Kamila Shamsie lives in London.

Storytelling
I read this after loving Home Fire. This one has less drama and doesn't capture characters in the same way, but was still good. There are parts that lag a bit, but if you enjoy storytelling, especially within families, you will get that here.

love, family, food in Karachi
really liked the story. i would like to get a physical copy because i missed too much of the story by listening in the car... sometimes the audio too soft and the traffic too heavy. loved the look into Pakistani culture and especially the delicious meals described.
