Publisher's Summary

Ruby de Burgh is the first born of the four daughters of Earl Blackpool. They were all named after the stones in daggers, bought by their late mother regarding a superstition. Ruby acts more like the son her father always wanted - nothing like a lady. And she is not pleased to find out her father has promised Lord Sheffield his choice of one of his daughter's hands in marriage.
Lord Nyle of Sheffield needs a wife so he can carry on his secret mission for the king. However, after losing three wives in a matter of months, he is sure their deaths were not accidents as it seemed, but rather they were murdered. Now to catch the murderer that he believes to be inside his castle walls, he chooses a wife as bait who he knows can wield a sword and hold her own against any attacker.
Will murder and mayhem place a wedge between an unconventional wife and the lord of death, or bring them closer together as emotions are brought to the surface?

Great story. Spunky & fun leading lady.

Author Elizabeth Rose writes a very fun romance with her story of Ruby. Ruby is her father's daughter. She knows how to shoot a bow, but not how to sew. Ruby is spunky and vibrant and a little rebellious. One day she is practicing her rambunctious skills as a secret warrior and the next thing she knows, her father agrees to a marriage, leaving Ruby stunned and speechless. What an exciting, fun, romantic and fascinating story. Keeps your attention from the beginning. An absolute must read. I loved it.
Narrator Stan Chandler delivers a nice performance. I'd like to see him become more diverse in his character voices, as well as perfect the voices of female characters. But still a nice performance,

Murder and Mystery

Would you listen to Ruby again? Why?

Ruby Daughters of the Dagger is the first book in the first book by Elizabeth Rose I’ve read and the first in this medieval series. I wasn't disappointed. Ruby de Burgh is the first born of the four daughters of Earl Blackpool. Because of their mother’s superstition they were all named after the stones in daggers.
The first Daughter of the Dagger meets her match in the Lord of Death. There is a murder, mystery and humor that make for a great read. Ruby our heroine is a strong willed lady who acts more like a son than a daughter, she knows how to handle a sword and takes action when needed. I loved watching her bring the hero to heel and seeing her transformed by love. Our hero Lord Nyle of Sheffield is promised one of Earl Blackpool’s daughter’s; he needs a wife and wants one who can protect herself. Nyle needs a wife and so far he has lost the three he has had and is now running out of time. He intends to keep the next one and find the murder as well who he thinks lives within his castle. I loved Nyle and Ruby’s story of good versus evil and how two incredibly strong willed people learning to trust each other and finding their HEA.

Any additional comments?

I loved this audiobook the story comes to life with the narrator's voice.
